Collaborative Yarns Term 3
During Week 1 and 2 (and week 3 for preschool families) of Term 3, we are inviting families to participate in collaborative yarns with learning coaches. The purpose of these 15 minute collaborative yarns is to provide families with an opportunity to meet face to face with your child's learning coach to:
- Discuss learning progress for your child
- Outline next steps in learning and share learning celebrations and samples of work
- Receive a comprehensive term calendar of events and information about Seesaw
How do I book?
During Week 10, every family will receive an email from PTO with log in details and instructions for booking a collaborative yarn. Please make sure you check your junk/spam folder.
Will I receive a reminder?
We will send a text message reminder to book in for a yarn next week and reminder Week 1, term 3 about booking in for the upcoming collaborative yarns.
What if my child/children go between two homes?
Families are welcome to book a time together or separately depending on your circumstances. There will be a separate email sent to both family homes. If you don't receive this, please contact reception.
Who will be part of the collaborative yarn?
Families, children and learning coaches.
Do I need to come along?
Summative reports provide a snapshot of learning and growth. Collaborative yarns provide a opportunity for learning coaches to expand on the summative report, provide evidence of learning and talk about the child as a wholistic learner. This is a great chance for families to ask questions and connect face to face with learning coaches about learning and social and emotional development. If you cannot attend face to face, please email your home learning coach to arrange a virtual meet.
Specialist Teachers (PE, Music, Library, Digital Technology)
Specialist teachers will also be available for consultation during the collaborative yarn period. To book a meeting with them please phone the front office directly on 02 6142 2800 or email: Margarethendry@ed.act.edu.au.
If your child attends the small group program with Dom, Dom will join you for the collaborative yarn and follow on from that conversation with more specific information.
